What do they do outside of the course?
Outside the course I am the Head of Creativity at Beckfoot School, Bingley. I am also the conductor of the Delph Youth Band.
How long they have been involved with the course?
I came on my first course in 2000, playing in the Wind Band.
What is their favourite thing about Wessex?
Friendship, as soon as you get on the field it is like you haven’t been away. Some of my best friends are members of the course, and spending quality time with them is fantastic.
What has been their favourite Wessex moment?
There are so many very special moments, it is so hard to pick one, but I would say that seeing players progress through the week and the years is very rewarding. Seeing players who I conducted in the training band develop through the course and into the senior bands is brilliant.
What are their hopes for the future of the course?
For the course to continue to develop lifelong friendships, to develop musicians of all ages, to keep building on its success and to keep inspiring players from around the country.
