Shaun Farrington began learning the trombone at the age of 11 and from very early on he knew that he wanted career in music.
In 2005 he graduated from the university of Salford and was also the recipient of the Roy Newsome conducting prize.
He is the current bass trombonist for former national champions Fodens Brass Band , a position he has held since 2009.
He works as a brass specialist teacher for both Entrust music service Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent music service teaching students from as young as 7 all the way to 18 and beyond, and enjoys regular successes with students in exams and successfully auditioning for music college.
He was also the conductor of Trentham brass band and has enjoyed many competition successes with the band, including two qualifications at the area contest, and a 4th place at the national finals resulting in promotion to the third section.
Shaun is a regular tutor on the Armagh summer school course so is no stranger to working with and developing musicians and their skills during and intensive week, and is really looking forward to working with all of the musicians on the Wessex course.
