Jon is a Soprano cornet, Bb cornet and trumpet player, currently playing with the Fairey Band of Stockport. Starting at age 9 on the cornet Jon worked his way to playing principal cornet with Crewe Brass (then Normid) under the direction of Jamie Meredith. After completing his A-levels in 2008 he started studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester, and thanks to long time principal cornet player Brian Taylor, joined the Fairey Band on front row cornet soon after.
