Matt Stimpson is head of the Creativity Faculty at Beckfoot School, Bingley, where he leads the Art, Design and Technology, Music and Performing Arts teams and has the pleasure of teaching music at the school.

Matt is a tenor horn player, and has previously played for a number of wind and brass bands around the Yorkshire region. Matt enjoys conducting a number of ensembles both in and out of school, and is often in demand to conduct workshops around the country, something he loves doing.

Matt was appointed musical director of the Delph Youth Band in January 2012 and absolutely loves working with such special young people. He has many highlights with the band, but leading the band down Delph High Street is something very special indeed.

Matt loves passing the love of music to others, and this dedication was rewarded when he was awarded the Classic FM secondary school music teacher of the year award.

Matt was a student on the course for many years, before becoming a tutor and conductor and is now chairman of the Wessex Band Summer School, which he sees as an absolute honour.
